In light of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, EIA’s Washington D.C. office is currently closed and all staff are working from home. But our advocacy and investigative efforts continue in full force.
EIA has always prided itself in its ability to be agile, to respond rapidly to shifting conditions, and to keep all our staff and partners safe. This is the biggest test of these perceived talents in our 30-year history, and our team is highly motivated to apply these qualities towards continuing to achieve the progress in environmental protection and governance we are all working for.
Our foremost concern is supporting the many brave partners we have around the world working to protect land and the environment. Since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, we have seen a spike in threats and attacks against land defenders and environmental activists. We are reaching out to those defenders – who may be more isolated and vulnerable than ever before – and we ask others to do so as well. To that end, we are now enabling donations to be made directly to helping defenders in need. Please indicate “Defenders” from the dropdown when you pledge here.
