Malawi Forestry Advisor Clement Chilima talks Malawi's proposal to add African Mukula rosewood to CITES Appendix II to protect it from the illegal logging that is endangering the species in the range states and robbing locals of both the trees and economic potential.
Malawi Forestry Advisor Clement Chilima talks about Malawi's national tree, Mulanje cedar, and the need to protect it from further destruction. Chilima is at CITES CoP18 proposing Mulanje be added to Appendix II to help end the illegal logging and export of the species the country has worked so hard to restore after rampant plundering of the forests.
