Solving the Global Climate Crisis: Taking the first step with a Dubai Amendment on HFCs

EIA has been advocating for years for an amendment to the Montreal Protocol to phase out some of the most potent super greenhouse gases (GHG) known as hydrofluorocarbons. The Montreal Protocol has a vital role to play in addressing climate change as it becomes increasingly clear that GHG emissions reduction targets pledged by Parties to the Paris Climate Summit will be far from sufficient to limit global temperature rise to below 2°C. In the lead up to the 21st Conference of the Parties (CoP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris later this year, the Montreal Protocol can provide critical momentum for the climate negotiations.

EIA has produced a new briefing, Solving the Global Climate Crisis: Taking the first step with a Dubai Amendment on HFCs, which you can download and read here.
