Lacey Act Testimony of EIA Executive Director Alexander von Bismarck

On July 17, 2013 EIA's Executive Director delivered the below testimony during the Natural Resource Committee's Oversight Hearing on "Why Should U.S. Citizens Have to Comply with Foreign Laws?" In the testimony, he discusses EIA's experience from 30 years in the field and focuses specifically on evidence from recent investigations that highlight the harsh realities, criminal engagement and negative impacts of illegal logging and illegal wildlife trade around the globe. He highlights the effectiveness and importance of the Lacey Act in addressing these challenges.
